Having been planned to come within 10 miles of 95% of people in the UK, the Olympic Torch Relay route has been announced and includes Buckingham. The date for your diary is Monday 9 July 2012; day 65 on the torch's 70 day, 8000 mile journey. It is planned that 8000 torch-bearers will carry the flame for 1 mile each.

The torch will start the day in Luton and pass through Dunstable, Milton Keynes & Bletchley before coming to Buckingham. It will then proceed through Winslow, Whitchurch, Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Waddesden, Bicester, Kirtlington, Woodstock & Kidlington before finishing the day in Oxford.
