Every year the Buckingham Acoustic Club and the Town Council sponsor a day of free live music in the town market. The 9-hour event is usually held on the weekend of the Sunday of the late May Bank Holiday.
Organised each year by Rosemary and Steve Heywood and sponsored by the Town Council, the Christmas Carnival is the highlight of the winter calendar.
This year, the carnival is on Saturday 12th December 2009 with the float procession due to commence at 10.45am. The theme this year is Christmas Magic.
Since the town received its charter in 1554 from Queen Mary, a Charter Fair has taken place in the town centre in October. The fair runs over two weekends and is very popular with the young people of the town.
Dates for the Buckingham Summer Festival Fortnight have been confirmed and will run from Saturday, July 5 to Sunday, July 20. The first week will be packed with daily concerts and recitals followed by a week of drama, arts and sports.
